Set in the beautiful Pays de la Loire region of France, on the edge of the Loire Valley. These two 200yr old cottages have been carefully restored whilst retaining many of their original features.
Originally two small farms, these cottages date back to the late 18th century, but were bought by the neighbouring farmer at the turn of the twentieth century, to be used as farm workers cottages. Whilst the two cottages have been renovated, and one opperates as a very sucessful Holiday Let, the barn still has the potential to be converted into another dwelling, as it was originally built as a house back in the 18th Century.
Les Mares is situated 2kms outside the village of Courcité, in the heart of the beautiful Mayenne region.
Courcité as a Bakers, general store/Post office a Bar/resturant, hairdressers and a lake. there is also an infant/junior school in the village with the older children going to the college in Villaines la Juhel only 10 mis away.
Villaines la Juhel has a variety of shops, bar/resturants, a large supermarket, sports centre, swimming pool ,a builders merchants, doctors, a hospital and several schools.
Les Mares is very well situated for the ferry ports. Caen, Le Harve and St Malo are only 2hrs away, while the airports of Tours, Rennes and Dinard are approximately 2hrs away also. As for train stations, Alençon is 30mins away, Sillé le Guillaume is 15 mins and Le Mans is 45 mins away.
Alençon is a lovely Medieval city and the old town of Le Mans is beautiful with its cobbled streets and medieval buildings.
Nearby, and set in the middle of a Pine forest, is a man made lake with a lovely sandy beach, ideal for swimming and water sports and very safe for children.
